    What we’re all about

    Home Credit, one of the world’s largest point-of-sale (POS) financing partner, is preparing to launch its POS platform to the U.S. market.  As the global leader in the space, Home Credit is searching for a capable and proven sales and business development leader with expertise in payments, point-of-sale financing solutions, consumer credit and the retail supply chain to serve as its senior-most director in the U.S.  While the preference is to find a candidate to work at the U.S. headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, this will be a nationwide search. Thus, for the right candidate, the opportunity to work remotely is possible.

    The Director of Sales, reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, will be responsible for leading the Home Credit retail partnership strategy across one or more industry verticals in the U.S.  Initially, this role will be very “hands-on,” managing primary and secondary pipelines, identifying suitable market opportunities, calling on potential new flagship partners, and closing, contracting and managing partner relationships.  As the U.S. business line grows however, this person must be capable of serving as the senior-most business line strategist in the organization, leading teams in a number of verticals across prospecting, market intelligence, qualification, acquisition and relationship management.  The expected curve for transitioning from primarily tactical duties to primarily strategic duties is approximately 12-18 months.  

    The Director of Sales must be a masterful sales and business development leader with a demonstrated history of developing, implementing and managing broad spectrum business responsibilities in the payments space.  He/She must be capable of speaking to their experience in driving acquisition across a multi-channel sales network, and must understand the variant nuances of working for a growth-focused, developmental, business line for a global conglomerate. He/She should be able to speak competently to retail partnership financial structures, the general payments ecosystem, the retail supply/value chain and should be capable of offering both insight and foresight into the point-of-sale lending market in the U.S.  Moreover, he/she will be expected to lead, train, develop, and manage his/her own sales team in the effective execution of similar responsibilities.

    Ultimately, the right candidate should be in possession of a comprehensive business development and partner management skill set which enables them to own their duties and relationships as if they were managing their own business.  The right candidate needs to be tenacious but tactful, well-spoken but easily understood, well-organized but flexible, and must present themselves professionally and astutely without appearing pretentious.  We’re looking for a proven and polished servant sales leader, with senior executive potential, to serve as our primary conduit to the U.S. market.

    Responsibilities

    A day in the life…

    • Identify, engage and on-board new retail partners in the U.S.
    • Identify empirically substantive market opportunities supported by market intelligence
    • Negotiate partnership agreements with new partners rooted in fair and equitable financial terms, utilization and leveraging of supply chain financials, and judicious risk sustainability
    • Drive growth in the U.S. business and hire, develop and oversee personnel capable of driving growth and retaining partnerships
    • Work closely with other business lines such as Legal, Compliance, Product Development, Risk and Marketing to ensure seamless experiences for our partners
    • Serve as a primary consultant to the U.S. executive committee in the areas of market opportunity, business development strategies and sales optimization
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    You’ll own this if you have…

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field
    • No less than ten years of progressive sales/commercial/consumer finance experience, with a minimum of five years in payments, point-of-sale lending and/or retail supply chain
    • Superior team and channel management skills
    • Excellent communication, project management and time management skills
    • Passionate, curious, flexible individual who enjoys working in a multi-cultural environment
    • Exhibits an overall polished, professional leadership style with undeniable leadership presence
    • Able to develop and maintain strong relationships, contacts, and networks
    • Proven ability to operate in a team environment and work in a matrix organizational structure

    • Ten years of sales experience in the payments industry
    • Five years of Senior Management experience with personnel responsibilities and oversight
